The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. When doing this it is essential that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the previous handle.

A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This type door handle is offered in a variety of styles and finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

The door handles of uPVC/Composite are made of robust materials and are suitable for doors with multi-point locks which require a robust design. The handles are inline, and they use the same spindle and screws to secure them. They can be easily mounted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The sprung lever design allows the handle to be placed and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles. This will ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The lever that is sprung can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further away from the door. A lever that is shorter is a good choice for doors that have latches that can be opened by a thumb turn on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles found on most doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles, inline or offset. They are typically employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200k cycles and are available in various finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and long-lasting durability for its intended purpose.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a wider handle, which is often a benefit when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that move out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.



It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be referred to as 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct handles.

Once you have the proper PZ size you will then need to ensure that the lever pads and push pads are of a suitable shape to fit the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you need for your doors. They are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC lever pads that we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from entering a property. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed models which allows them to be installed on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of door. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case which is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is essential; it is contingent on the way your doors and handles are utilized. For instance, doors that are external should be fitted with an extra secure cylinder, while internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that increase security, for instance, anti drill or anti bump properties.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This will help deflect the attack, and keep your door safe.

Certain cylinders are made to resist snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and simpler method to gain access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could hinder insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located in the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after using. In the past, a lot of these types of handle didn't have a spring built into them, and without it they tend to droop or  drop once the locking mechanism is disengaged. This simple feature is among the most effective ways to fix this issue and is a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always easy to close manually.

The spring cassettes were made to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that are not sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate for them to fit. (Please see the image for a detailed diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of the door handle for various kinds of uPVC doors. They are fitted with an elongated square that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are sold as a set.
